ConAgra, has contracted with The Richmond Information Group, Ltd. (RIG) to install RIG’s wireless data collection application development tool, DistinctRF©, at their Refrigerated Foods Division manufacturing facility in Motley, Minnesota. This deployment follows a DistinctRF installation last year at ConAgra’s Grocery Products Plant in Archbold, Ohio. RIG had worked previously with ConAgra’s Grocery Products Division to manage a BPCS manufacturing software implementation at multiple nationwide facilities. BPCS (Business Planning and Control System) is a popular ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) application program for manufacturing and other industries that installed at over 8,000 business sites worldwide.
ConAgra is a Fortune 100 company with headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska and over 65,000 worldwide employees. Their plants produce such well-known brands as Hunts, Knott’s Berry Farm, Wesson, Swiss Miss, La Choy, Peter Pan, Healthy Choice, Bumble Bee and Pam.
Jim Branyon and Marv Powers have joined The Richmond Information Group, Ltd. (RIG). Both possess over 20 years of manufacturing and systems implementation experience. Jim will be assuming a role of consultative salesperson in the Southeast region, while Marv is an application and implementation consultant, currently leading an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation at Southeastern Mills in Rome, Georgia.
Richmond International Airport’s operator, The Capital Region Airport Commission (the “Commission”) recently unveiled new and extended functionality developed by The Richmond Information Group, Ltd. (RIG) to the airport’s award winning website, www.flyrichmond.com. The newly designed Business Opportunities Procurement System will allow for interested and qualified companies to register as a potential Commission vendor for specific commodity opportunities, receive notifications when opportunities become available, download solicitations and view document holder lists for subcontracting opportunities. In addition, companies can respond to solicitations electronically. (RIG) to achieve the distinction of becoming a Microsoft® Certified Partner. Since 1996, DistinctRF© has met expanding customer needs through increased functionality and enhancement. Jim Raper, Vice President and General Manager of RIG, feels “obtaining this widely recognized validation of our technology assures our customers RIG recognizes the importance of keeping DistinctRF© compatible with the many applications developed around the Microsoft® family of products.” According to Jim Larson, one of RIG’s software architects, who shepherded DistinctRF© through the rigorous testing procedure, “RIG has had it's ‘do it right’ philosophy confirmed through this process. The certification was achieved on first attempt without any code modification being required!”

Pepperidge Farm (PF), a subsidiary of the Campbell Soup Company, contracted with The Richmond Information Group, Ltd. (RIG) to purchase, install and integrate RIG's wireless data collection toolkit, DistinctRF© in the Downer's Grove, Illinois and new Bloomfield, Connecticut facilities. RIG is also providing business process restructuring consulting for PF's manufacturing and distribution activities for frozen and fresh baked product lines. This contract award continues the positive recognition that DistinctRF© is receiving in the food processing and manufacturing arena. Pepperidge Farm’s plants produce such well-known brands as Goldfish® Crackers, Farmhouse Stuffing, and Milano Cookies.
